Legal Practice

Mr. McGee practices in the area of family law, assisting clients in divorce, legal separation, custody, paternity, child support, third party custody, parenting time, domestic abuse, and related family law matters. Prior to forming McGee Family Law, Mr. McGee honed his skills practicing family law with the law firm of Butler & Allen until the founding partner retired and the firm dissolved.

While in law school, Mr. McGee was a Judicial Law Clerk in the Hennepin County courts where he stayed for a combined total of almost five years, both in the family court and criminal court.

Before attending law school, Mr. McGee had a long and successful career in business and marketing, creating advertising for large corporations, such as Sears and Fingerhut. He then went on to start and lead his own advertising agency for many years.

Throughout his entire adult life Mr. McGee has had a lengthy history of community involvement. Mr. McGee has advocated for over 21,000 students as chair of the Osseo school board while simultaneously advocating for special needs students as a member of the executive committee of Intermediate School District 287. Mr. McGee has also advocated for taxpayers on a Hennepin County citizen’s task force, in addition to serving as a volunteer instructor for the Boy Scouts, a youth athletic coach, a church education teacher and church board member, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Mr. McGee also worked for five years as a Policy Aide to Hennepin County Commissioner Penny Steele.

Mr. McGee has the training, experience, and a genuine passion to ensure his clients reach a resolution, whether at the bargaining table or in the courtroom. Combined with his past experience as a business owner, Mr. McGee also has the skills and knowledge to assist his clients with intricate financial matters that are a part of their divorce.

Mr. McGee is committed to providing personal representation and effective legal services to his clients, with a patient, compassionate ear to listen to their needs and concerns.

In his spare time Mr. McGee enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include: fishing, hunting and writing.
